My Collection

My small collection has been accumulated since I inherited my first gramophone about 8 years ago. To date I have bought and sold approx  100 gramophones (and one phonograph). I have about approx 24 gramophones currently in my collection.

Here is a video of my HMV model 163 from cir 1928 playing 'I can't dance I've got ants in my pants' by Valaida Snow recorded 1935. Note: At the time I took the video of the gramophone the lid was off for restoration.

Here is a video of my HMV model V from cir 1918-1920.  Playing an Official Boy Scout Record recording of 'Old Zip Coon' from 1924.

My Style 11 Junior Monarch from late 1903-1905. This machine has had an interesting life. The honeysuckle case design appeared in late 1903. This example likely had the front mount wood travelling arm, which was replace by the owner with the more modern back mounted Sound Arm, Then again later in its life the Taper Arm was used. The horn is a very good reproduction made in New Zealand.

Here is a video of my HMV model 461 manufactured between 1926-1929 playing Eddie Cantor singing 'Over Somebody else's Shoulder' recorded 1934.

Here is my red HMV model 102 from the late 30's.

Here is my HMV model 102 from the mid 50's.

Here is my HMV Excello (re-badged Model 1) from around 1915.
